The over-the-counter cash foreign exchange (Forex) market trades $3 trillion a day, an amount 50 times larger than all the futures markets in the world combined. As a result, Forex is the most liquid market in the world. One reason why currencies trend better than every other market is because of their macro-economic nature. Unlike many commodities of which fundamentals can literally change with the weather, currency fundamentals are much less random and far more predictable. The market is a zero sum game, in that on each side of a transaction there is a buyer and a seller. One side has to win and one side has to lose.
